The Details
THE STORY
Taking note from prolific annual action sports film festivals such as IF3, the 1st annual 25' TFT aimed to provide telemark athletes, filmers, editors, and creators a space to showcase their work while growing the breath of media and contributors in the telemark community.
With cash prizes, participants are motivated to create their project at the highest quality. Additionally, the 25' TFT will provided a lower barrier to entry for film submissions, providing telemark enthusiasts the ability to begin their film production journey.
In 2026 TELE COLO will continue the festival to continue the tradition of providing telemark skiers and creators a space to show what this sport is all about!
Ultimately, the long term goal is for submittees to begin to submit films into larger festivals, such as IF3, thereby creating more exposure for themselves, telemark, and its supporting industry.
THE REQUIREMENTS for the 26' TFT
- Must be filmed sometime between October 2025 through August 2026
- The submitted film must be between 5 and 10 minutes in length
- Must be filmed and produced in landscape mode at a minimum resolution of 1080p
- The movie theme can be simple action sports, a documentary, or anything in between

I’ll be looking for creativity and style, but most of all that infectious energy that makes me wanna go out and ski!"

"I’m excited to be a judge for the Telemark Film Festival and to celebrate the creativity and passion of the freeheel community. I’ll be looking for beautiful, flowing tele turns—the kind that make you want to drop a knee on the spot. I’m drawn to films that showcase style, soul, and a bit of grit. Bonus points for humor, originality, and capturing what makes tele skiing so damn fun."

"I’m really excited to be part of the Tele Film Festival 2025! As a writer at Telecolo, I’ve love following the hijinks of some of my favorite skiers. As a judge, I’m looking forward to seeing fresh, creative storylines unfold in this year’s fest—exploring new zones, watching skiers push their limits both in front of the camera and in the editing room. Of course, that means big smiles, high fives, and a couple of big slams!"

"Howdy Folks! Christopher here, and super excited to be able to judge for the Tele Film Fest this year! I hope to see some really creative moves - I love seeing Tele specific style and technical tricks, but mostly I just want to see who has the most fun."

"Over the many years I have been involved with the Telemark Industry I have noticed that we run in packs of telemark friend groups within the wider community. Tele Colo is not just a reflection of that, but an ardent supporter and facilitator of that concept with the King and Queens of the Heel, and now with the Telemark Film Festival as well. I built my ski career in that mindset and I am looking forward to seeing the stories of all these film festival crews that come together to make a cool film project that tells a good story."
